I like what you said about "she knows exactly what she wants..." in one of your comments. That is so very important. Many of us don't know exactly what we want, so how do we expect to get it if we don't know (?) (rhetorical question) Also Fania, I like all your unique and creative entries on this site. Keep on paintin' and we will keep on admiring you. Your fan, anne

She is a modern woman with reality, fear, silence, and struggle for her existence. Like it. :)

Fania, the colors, design and punch you give to the background..serves to drive the woman's face forward, her melancholy, fear and sadness stares us in the face...and we want to know more..great great storytelling...thanks for your comments..sorry for late responses....carole

Thank you so much, Sandra, Judith, Marlene and Vilma for your positive comments! I am grateful! Judy, it seems as if I was in an a "subconscious" state of mind when I created this piece. After I received your comment, I became "conscious" of many things in relation to that piece of creation. I said to myself, "ok, I added a bike, a butterfly, and of course, she is expressing the look of a woman who is afraid of something....in addition, she is revealing sadness in her face and mouth. Her freedom for vocal expression is seen but silenced..." Indeed, Judy, you are 100% correct. This is not a happy woman. YET, she knows exactly what she wants, and her desires are all around her - even if the road to freedom seems closed to her. The green plant in the back of her is symbolic for her faith; her hope that is keeping her alive! In the matrix of everything, she is an overcomer - she will overcome the mess that is keeping her without freedom!!!

fania, sorry;the mouth also indicates a deep level of unhappiness or misery;this is not a happy woman...love, jude
